I tried various experiments based on Arkhip Kuindzhi’s paths through birch trees. The path is not a way to somewhere, but a destination in itself. Trees are not merely a framing device for a ‘view’, but it’s tough to get that idea across in paint.

I moved his idea from Russia to the High Peaks of the Adirondacks, because that’s a place I know and love. This is based on memory and imagination, not reality.

REFUNDS

If a painting disappoints, I will of course refund your money, on return of the painting back in my Rockport studio. Returned art must be properly packaged, with corner protectors as required and insured to its full value.
