Red river rocks

Sedona sits along the banks of Oak Creek, a tributary to the nearby Verde River. These are two of Arizona’s few perennial streams, and part of what gives Sedona its otherworldly air.

Oak Creek starts in a steeply-cut canyon north of Sedona, burbles merrily through town, and then enters more open country before joining up with the Verde River.

This was painted on the grounds of L’AubergeĀ deĀ Sedona. Even here, it’s all about that crazy red rock.
