Lobster wharf

$903.00

Lobster wharves are a common sight in maritime Maine. They might be run by a coop, and be in an almost industrial setting. Or there may be a dock run by a family, or something as simple as a float on the water.

Modern lobster traps are both more colorful and less poetic than the old oak hooped-lath version (which was still being used in the Hebrides last time I visited).

The boats come, load and unload, and then go. Four or five may model for one in a finished plein air painting.
