Breaking storm

$5,579.00

Just who got to decide that I’m a ‘who’ and a boat is an ‘it’? Actually, she’s a she, because I’m not the first person who ever thought that boats were a great metaphor for the human experience. They weather storms and navigate shoals just as we do. How they survive depends on a combination of luck, preparedness and sagacity.

The model for this painting is the lovely and gracious schooner American Eagle, and she’s coming around Owl’s Head, which is a real place and the mouth of Penobscot Bay.
