Camden Amphitheater

The steps of the Camden amphitheater are a great place to sit and watch the everchanging Camden harbor, or experience any of the many public events held each summer. It’s beloved by visitors and residents alike.

The Camden Amphitheatre is part of the Camden Library complex, which also includes the library building and Harbor Park. From its inception in the 1930s, the library complex was intended to preserve as much of the existing foliage as possible. The design of the amphitheater marries local Maine plants and stone with elegant Classical and Art Deco ornaments, creating a home-grown Renaissance Italian garden theater. It’s an amazing resource for such a small coastal community.
