Sea Fog

My favorite weather on the Maine coast is fog. Sometimes, as Carl Sandburg wrote:

The fog comes
on little cat feet.
It sits looking
over harbor and city
on silent haunches
and then moves on.

At other times, it’s deeper and more mysterious, making sheer strangeness out of old familiar places. But in the morning, it’s often light, dancing, ethereal, and cool to the touch.

Castine is a contender for prettiest town in Maine, and I’ve painted there often.

If a painting disappoints, I will of course refund your money, on return of the painting back in my Rockport studio. Returned art must be properly packaged, with corner protectors as required and insured to its full value.
